Hurford Roasted is about creating luxury in the area of hardwood flooring whilst increasing durability and limiting movement. The Hurford Roasted process metamorphosis the natural colour of hardwood to create a deep rich tone that penetrates through the wood.

Product Information

Hurford Roasted is a high temperature thermally modified hardwood that uses a custom designed heating program to alter the woods molecular structure. This has many benefits that include locking in the colour, increasing the durability and limiting movement to a fraction of normal kiln dried flooring. Hurford’s Roasted is manufactured from Australian Hardwood and is available in two distinctive tones, Roasted Peat & Roasted Cayenne.

Thermally Modified

The Australian hardwood timbers used for Hurford’s Roasted are thermally modified with high temperatures using a custom designed heating program. This alters the timbers molecule structure improving weather resistance, increasing surface hardness and darkening of the timbers original colour.

Moisture Reduction

There is less absorption of moisture in thermally heat-treated timber, resins dry out or evaporate during the procedure, less moisture means less movement in the timber.

Increased resistance to temperature changes

Due to the thermal modification process the timber used for Hurford’s Roasted has improved resistance to climate and temperature changes, thus in return increases the stability of the timber.

Moody Tones

As the temperature increases, blonde or lighter toned timbers will darken with the temperature increase creating a luxurious deep and rich darker colour.
